Excerpt from Magic Mail Vol. 9.

Hello my friends!

How are you feeling? Tired, weary, just fine, deeply emotional? I imagine it’s likely we’re all feeling so many things, stacked on top of each other. Rest and restoration is so necessary. After the overwhelm and intensity of last week, we could all use a little extra love. I find my thoughts drifting towards spring. As much as I am determined to pull myself into the present moment, I must say, I just adore spring and seeing all the plants and flowers wake up and come alive. January and February, in my part of the world, are full of extra sleep (I , recognize that I need a full 9 hours of sleep a night in the winter!), slowing down, being creative in the kitchen and lots of hot, steamy ritual baths. Last year, I was living on a beautiful little island and the trade of was that, gasp, I did not have a bath tub-only a tiny shower. It was rough. Grateful for all the magic island life brought into my year but I missed the bath tub terribly. Also reflecting on how far I’ve come that my most pressing problem in 2019/20 was not having a bath tub! That’s growth… Ritual bath time is my time to be alone, soothed and supported by the element of water and whatever other treasures I decide to add to the bath. Here’s a recipe/love spell to get you started for your own sacred, steamy, self love bathing ritual.

Ritual Bath/Self Love Spell-

I like to take these baths in the evening before bed. Any day will do but they feel especially charged on the new and full moons. Turn your ringer off and if you even bring your phone into the bathroom-use it only to play gentle music or a guided meditation. Ritual bath time is not a time for scrolling.

-turn on the water and as the tub begins to fill:

-add a small handful of dried red or pink roses (dried or fresh) or some of my Flower Fairy ritual bath blend. Larger petals can be easily gathered by hand (or with a mesh strainer) before draining tub or you can use a reusable muslin tea bag.

-pour in some rose water, orange blossom water or other floral water. Add a dropper full of flower essence (rose, honeysuckle or heliotrope are lovely) or my Otherworlds Flower Essence Potion.

-optional-add a cup or two of epsom salts or a few teaspoons of herbal infused oil.

-light a candle (or 3), turn off the lights and shut the bathroom door. Tell the fam you’re not to be disturbed.

-relax and reflect upon all the ways love shows up in your life. Envision love as a glowing, rosy pink light, gather that light all around you and allow it to come in and fill up your heart space. Continue imagining the light glowing and spreading throughout your entire body, arms, legs, fingers, toes, shoulders, neck and head.

-lay there, wrapped in love, as long as you want. I usually soak a half hour, adding more hot water as needed. Messages and insights may come through-we all have the ability to channel. I really believe that recognizing the love we have and counting our blessings calls in more of the same. As the tub drains, imagine any limiting thoughts disappearing down the drain! xoxo

These are simply ideas to get you started. Trust your intuition and add what feels best for your sacred bath time. I’m taking a bath tonight and adding some golden Calendula oil that I made.
